Our annual seminar programme focuses on tax topics and business issues. We hold a number of events throughout the year in Exeter, Barnstaple and Okehampton. Full details will be published here as they are confirmed.

How to manage in a difficult economic climate

There is little doubt that we are experiencing a slow down in the UK economy. With the worldwide credit crunch continuing to squeeze and the word 'recession' appearing more frequently in the press, now is the time to prepare some simple strategies to help your business ride the economic storm.

Simpkins Edwards is holding a free evening seminar for clients focusing on the key areas you should be considering to strengthen the position of your business in tougher times.

  • Economic update
    An overview of the factors currently affecting the economy and what we might expect over the coming months.
  • Business management strategies
    Advice on the tactics to employ in preparation of an economic slowdown with Simpkins Edwards partner Mary Jane Campbell and Corporate Tax Director Jean-Paul Quertier. Find out how to keep the cash flowing, what information you should be extracting from your accounts and how you should be using this, and the tax planning strategies that can help lessen your tax bill.
  • Managing your finances
    Advice on planning your finances effectively with Nigel Hemming, director, Aquila Financial Management. Learn how pensions can be used in business, the need for protection and reviewing risk on investments.

Doors open at 6.30pm, with the first session beginning at 7pm. The seminar will be followed by a finger buffet and a chance to talk with our speakers and fellow delegates.
