Michael Hesketh

Michael joined Simpkins Edwards in 2026, having previously worked for a national firm leading their tax advisory services in the West Country. He is a Chartered Tax Advisor with over 20 years UK tax compliance and advisory experience providing commercially focused tax advice to a wide range of businesses and their owners, covering all sectors with businesses ranging from start-ups, SMEs and entrepreneurial companies, through to multi-national and listed entities.

Michael specialises in tax planning for entrepreneurial and owner-managed businesses, including succession and exit planning, transaction tax structuring and M&A support, cross border transactions, reorganisations, R&D tax credits, Patent Box, capital allowances, share schemes, and CT compliance/tax relief claims in general. Michael works closely with the other specialists across the firm to help ensure that our clients are not only tax compliant, but they also receive a comprehensive, bespoke, and commercially focused tax advisory service to help them maximise their tax reliefs, grow their business, and achieve their objectives.

Michael is married to Anna and lives in North Devon. Michael and Anna have 3 active teenagers, so never have any spare time!
