Simpkins Edwards shortlisted for the Xero Community Impact Award

We are delighted to announce that Simpkins Edwards has been recognised for going ‘above and beyond’ in giving back to the community, having been shortlisted for a Community Impact Award, part of the Xero Awards UK 2022.

With offices at locations across Devon, we have been a long-standing supporter of local charities and other community initiatives over the years.

The Community Impact Award shines light on firms who have gone above and beyond – not just for their clients, but also for giving back to their community.

Simpkins Edwards is one of three finalists, all chosen for a ‘genuine passion and desire to help out their community and make a positive impact on society’.

We demonstrated a commitment to a number of charities and worthy causes during 2021. This included sponsorship of a new maths resource at a local school and the sponsorship of an assault course challenge in aid of North Devon Hospice, as well as providing over 500 meals for families attending a local agricultural show in the summer.

Alongside this, we hosted out annual Really Big Quiz, which brings teams together for an evening of fun and fundraising. This is perhaps the most well-known of our charitable activities, having raised over £30,000 in Barnstaple and £84,000 in Exeter to date for a number of Devon charities.

Mary-Jane Campbell, Managing Partner and Simpkins Edwards, said: “The last two years have shown us just how important the communities around us really are, so we’re absolutely thrilled to have been shortlisted for the Xero Community Impact Award. This is all about celebrating community connections and making a positive difference where we can. We’ve always been proud to support a whole host of good causes locally, so it means a lot to be one of the three finalists in this category.”

The Xero Awards recognise the ‘Rockstars of the accounting industry’ and the winner of the Community Impact Award will be announced at the awards ceremony in London at the end of April.
